The prize for the best publication

The EPIS Award is given annually for EPIS Publications. It motivates Research Fellows to write high-quality work and rewards their contribution to the fact-based debate. At the end of each year, all publications are put to a vote across three categories, each endowed with a small financial compensation.

Three award categories

Take part in the EPIS Award by publishing as an EPIS Research Fellow. Publications from the following EPIS Resorts are eligible:

Category I

EPIS Magazine & Report Articles

Academic articles and in-depth reports published in the EPIS Magazine or through the EPIS Report Groups, assessed on research quality, analysis depth, and academic rigour.

Category II

EPIS Blog

Shorter analytical pieces published on the EPIS Blog, assessed on clarity of argument, topicality, and the quality of policy insight.

Category III

EPIS Working Groups

Outputs produced through the EPIS Working Groups — policy briefs, research papers, and group analyses — assessed on collaborative quality and practical relevance.

Each submission is evaluated across nine criteria covering both intellectual quality and formal presentation standards.

External Recognition

European Award for Citizenship, Security and Defence

The EPIS Thinktank received a Special Commendation at the European Award for Citizenship, Security, and Defence — recognition of outstanding efforts in promoting European civic responsibility and defence awareness.

The European Award for Citizenship, Security, and Defence was first presented in 2011 under the high patronage of the President of the European Council. It recognises organisations making exceptional contributions to European security culture and awareness.
