Two paths. One community.
The EPIS Fellowship gives students and young graduates a structured entry into the world of foreign and security policy — whether you want to follow the research and engage as a Thinktank Fellow, or join our wider network of professionals, practitioners, and peers.
Life as an EPIS Fellow

Choose your pathway
EPIS operates two distinct Fellow categories, each designed to match a different level of time commitment and research ambition. Both grant access to the EPIS community, events, and resources.
EPIS Network Fellow
The EPIS Network includes non-publishing Fellows who benefit from events, discussions, newsletters, and connections with students, professionals, and experts. No mandatory obligations — just access to the full EPIS ecosystem.
Explore the NetworkEPIS Thinktank Fellow
The publishing fellows. Here you can contribute to EPIS Publications through Working, Report, and Format Groups: from the EPIS Magazine to policy briefs and in-depth reports. Priority access to delegation spots and expert talks.
EPIS Consult
By invitation. The EPIS Consult is a student-run lobbying and political consulting agency specializing in diplomatic and economic policy. We connect future leaders with real-world challenges, offering tailored strategic advice, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

How Thinktank Fellows engage
Research Fellows join one of EPIS's active groups and take on a defined role within it. Each role is designed to match different skills and availability — from writing and analysis to coordination and expert outreach.
Resort Leader
Lead a Working Group, Report Group, or Format Group. Responsible for setting the research agenda, coordinating contributors, and ensuring quality output.
Writing Expert
Author articles, policy briefs, and reports within your group. Peer-reviewed and published across EPIS channels — from the Magazine to the EPIS Blog.
Research Expert
Conduct primary and secondary research to underpin EPIS publications. Build expertise in a specific region or thematic policy area.
Special Expert
Provide specialist knowledge — language, data analysis, visualisation, or domain expertise — to support group outputs and cross-group collaboration.
How to apply
Applications for both Network and Thinktank Fellowship are open year-round. Use the self-assessment tool below to identify the right pathway and group for you, then submit your application.
Self-Assessment
Answer a short set of questions about your time availability, writing preferences, geographic focus, and thematic interests. We will suggest the most suitable EPIS group for your profile.
Submit Documents
Thinktank applicants submit a one-page CV and a one-page cover letter. Publication samples are optional but encouraged. Network membership requires only basic registration.
Join Your Group
Successful applicants are onboarded into their chosen group and introduced to the EPIS community. Working groups meet monthly; format groups operate on a publication-cycle basis.
