Mihnea Turcitu

Mihnea Turcitu is a defence and security analyst working at the intersection of emerging technology, intelligence, and European security policy. He holds a Master’s in Intelligence and National Security (MSc) from Leiden University, and a Bachelor’s in Political Science: International Relations and Organisations (BSc), also from Leiden, with a minor in Intelligence. He currently serves as Format Groups Leader at EPIS – Thinktank for Foreign Affairs & Security Policy. He is also an advisor in KPMG’s Defence and Security practice, where he advises clients on public defence procurement, European and transatlantic procurement programmes, and strategic positioning within the defence-tech start-up space amid a shifting geopolitical landscape. Having pivoted from a focus on Western European defence markets, he now concentrates on NATO’s Eastern Flank, with particular attention to Romania, alongside a broader interest in resilience and civil-military cooperation (CIMIC). He was previously part of the commercial team at Fiducial, a leading defence-tech company specialising in counter-UAS (counter-drone) systems, contributing to business development, strategy, and government affairs as the company established itself at the forefront of the field. He was recognised as a Future Leader at the Euro-Atlantic Resilience Forum and won the transatlantic security policy competition organised by European Horizons.
