Board of Honoraries

At EPIS, our Board of Honoraries symbolises commitment — not just to academic excellence, but to the values that shape our organisation. We honour those who embodied bridge-building and a firm belief in dialogue over division.

In Memory and Inspiration

Yaron Lischinsky

Yaron Lischinsky

Yaron was one of the earliest contributors to EPIS, co-authoring an article with Max Schussmüller in EPIS Magazine Issue No. 2. He remained a part of our community ever since, serving as an EPIS Network Fellow contributing to the EPIS Blog and participating in our Insta-Lives. Most recently, he worked at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Every conversation with him offered a new perspective. One sentence in particular stayed with us: “Israel is in war right now, I don't know what will happen tomorrow.” It reminded us that the issues we often approach in theory — foreign affairs and security policy — have a deeply real and personal dimension.

Yaron was a committed advocate of the Abraham Accords and believed deeply in the power of interfaith dialogue and regional cooperation. Holding a Master's degree in Government, Diplomacy & Strategy and a Bachelor's in International Relations & Asian Studies, he brought a multilingual and cross-cultural outlook to everything he did. He had made Aliyah from Germany at age 16 and called both Jerusalem and Nuremberg home.

Yaron and his girlfriend were tragically killed in a shooting outside a Jewish museum in Washington. EPIS' condolences go to their families and friends. His legacy shows how one caring person can make a difference, especially when they act with compassion and integrity.

Organisation Structure

Our Boards

Three specialised boards guide the strategic, content, and honorary dimensions of EPIS. The Board of Honoraries is joined by the Board of Directors and the Board of Advisors.
