After Trump last week suggested Ukraine to replace Zelenskiy and stop the attacks towards Russian oil infrastructure, Germany has announced staying with Ukraine and preserving the support for the country and the president “as he carries out his difficult duties”. German foreign minister Johann Wadephul describes how the government stands for more pressure to Putin and Russia. According to Wadephul, an unforeseen amount of sanctions will be set against the Russian offensive war, over 1600 individuals and organizations that are directly or indirectly pivotal for the Russian war success. Also British prime minister Andy Burnham is ready strengthen the sanctions towards Russia. Acknowledging the “difficult duties” of Zelenskiy sounds like the least the west could do. In the extremely capricious world we are currently living in, European cooperation plays a significant role. Let’s hope it turns out as something we can trust also in the future.
