Germany arrested two Turkish citizens
Germany arrested two Turkish citizens over a fire sabotage at a station of satellite-based internet service Starlink at the end of September in Poland. Polish Special Services Minister Tomasz Siemoniak describes that Russia is behind this act and uses it as an example of how Russia is using individuals with criminal backgrounds to achieve its goal with Ukraine. The case is not unforeseen: Across Europe there have been attempts of sabotage and hybrid and cyber attacks against the European support for Ukraine and, according to European officials, there are more to come. Moscow tends to shrug the accusations off as groundless, anti-Russian propaganda. The Starlink terminals are crucial for Ukraine’s military forces as the country uses them for communications and drone operations. The Russian embassy in Poland has not commented on the matter. In our everyday lives, it is pivotal to understand how the battlefield is not the only place where the war can take place.
